There has been a new blow against cryptocurrencies; KICKICO platform, which supports ICOs, has suffered a computer attack for which it has lost more than 70 million KickCoins. The value of the theft is estimated at $ 7.7 million, approximately, and the security problems have been confirmed by the platform itself in an official statement. This attack, as discussed in the details of the information, occurred last Thursday.

The computer attack suffered by KICKICO was not detected at any time until one of its clients, a victim of it, complained to the support service of having lost no less than $ 800,000 from his wallet. As reported by the user, the KickCoin had disappeared suddenly and without any notification, something that undoubtedly supposes anomalous behavior of the platform. It was then when, from the platform, they initiated the corresponding investigations and could verify that the stolen funds were of a total of 70 million KickCoins, approximately 7.7 million dollars.

A new blow to the cryptocurrencies: they steal 7.7 million dollars from an ICO offered by KICKICO
The attack occurred by sending the KickCoin to 40 different directions, where they were 'destroyed', and transferred to another 40 false addresses controlled by the attacker. What was achieved is to leave no trace or variation in the volume of the ICO. For that reason, the platform could not detect the attack, and they did not perceive it until they investigated following the complaint of one of its users. The platform is committed to returning all tokens to the KickCoin holders; in the official statement they say that the situation is under control.

In it, in addition to reporting the situation, and the details of the attack, they ask that an email be sent to proceed with the reimbursement after the theft of the cryptocurrencies. It is not the first computer attack of its kind to occur this year, and it is obviously a serious problem for cryptos in general.
