Good day dear Hive Community, first of all I would like to welcome you to my contribution and hope you had a day that was full of positive experiences! In this post, I would like to bring you closer to a mushroom and hope you can expand your knowledge.
Here you can see the Verdigris agaric, which is also known under the scientific name Stropharia aeruginosa and it is a rather more common mushroom which can be found from the end of summer until late in the year until almost December and it is relatively easy to recognize and convinces by the intense green or blue color and mainly grows on forest soils and can also be found on rotten wood. The Verdigris agaric was first described in 19th century and the mushroom is edible and the smell is rather earthy and slightly nutty and the taste is relatively neutral. It can reach a size of about 5-10 cm and the stem has a natter-like appearance and the hat has a spherical appearance and a shimmering or slimy surface and with increasing age it discolors and takes on a darker color. The meat is green or white and the slats have a brown or dark appearance and can be seen in the following picture. When collecting, you always have to pay attention to the danger of confusion with other mushrooms and typical confusion partners are Green Dapperling or scientifically Lepiota grangei which can be classified as toxic and generally applies when looking for mushrooms that if you are not completely sure to leave the fungus or ask someone for advice!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about nature! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
