Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a day that has brought some interesting experiences into your life! In this article I would like to talk about nature and introduce a new mushroom after some time.
This mushroom is also known under the scientific name Lyophyllum fumosum and it's an edible mushroom which can usually be found relatively late in the year and depending on the region, it can also sometimes be collected during the cool days. With a little luck it can also be found in spring and the distribution area is relatively diverse and it can be found in addition to forests also on meadows or roadsides and it's also typical that it goes in symbiosis with some different trees which is why it is extremely important from an ecological point of view. In forests, most specimens can usually be found on the edge where it can often be found in bushes or other overgrown places and it can generally be considered as a frequent fungus which, however, is rather unknown to some as an edible mushroom. It is relatively easy to recognise and there are only a few fungi with which it can be confused and some of the same genus look very similar, but are not toxic and can also be consumed and differ most by the consistency which is rather firmer in Lyophyllum fumosum. Another typical distinguishing feature is the brown hat as well as the neutral smell which can sometimes be slightly sour and as an edible mushroom it should best be consumed fresh after it has been sufficiently cooked and at the end I would like to mention that people looking for mushrooms should always have a certain scepticism and if a specimen is unknown it should simply be left standing!
