Hello dear Hiveans! In my post I would like to share pictures of another beautiful flower with you! The name of the flower is Purple crown vetch and the botanical name is Securigera varia.
Purple crown vetch is mostly found in wooded areas, embankments or along roadsides and it blooms from June to October. The plant is perennial and hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -16°.
The natural distribution area extends from Europe to Western Asia and the Caucasus. In most cases the Purple crown vetch does not exceed 50 cm, but less often there are also plants that grow over one meter tall.
This plant is poisonous mainly to horses, for bees and caterpillars it is a good source of food because the flowers are rich of pollen. The colors of the flowers are pink, white or red.
Many thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed my post! I took the pictures with my iPhone 12.
