DIY Elegant hair ornament with foamiran roses. Detailed master class

Hello dear friends!

I want to show you how you can make a very elegant and beautiful decoration from foamiran with your own hands.
I want to note that such roses can be used for flower arrangements and brooches, it all depends on your imagination and inspiration.

Working time: approximately 3-4 hours.

Tools and materials:

• foamiran
• dry art pastel
• scissors
• glue gun
• iron
• wire
• acrylic paints
• mold-list
• foil
• hair band
• toothpicks
• Super glue

I used foamiran for roses in two colors - white and pink.

First you need to cut out the petals. This can be done very simply - just cut the foamiran into strips of about 3-4 cm, which I then cut into squares.
Then I cut off the corners of the squares on one side and get the shape of a petal.
I tint the edge of each petal with pink dry pastel.

It turns out like this:

I also tint petals from pink foamiran with pastels - this way the flowers will look more realistic.

I also prepare blanks for leaves and sepals of future roses. I cut them out of green foamiran. In my work, I did not use forms or templates, but simply improvised. There is no need to be afraid, because the work is creative and you will succeed! :)

Please note that I made cuts on the edges of the leaves, this will give a resemblance to real rose leaves. The edges of the leaves and five-pointed sepals must be tinted with pastels. Red or brown pastels work very well for this.

The next stage is very important - this is the processing of our workpieces on the iron. To do this, you need to use the most common iron. You need to warm it up on medium power. In no case should you set the highest temperature, otherwise you will burn your hands and ruin the foamiran blanks. Be careful and attentive at this stage of work!

I apply each petal to the iron and hold for a few seconds. Foamiran warms up and begins to change its shape (you will immediately feel it).

While the petal is hot, you need to scroll it with your fingers as shown in the photo. Due to this, folds and veins are obtained on the petal.

Then you need to easily and gently stretch and straighten the petal with your hands.

If you want the petals to look alive, then do not miss another moment - gently and gently rub the edge of the petal between your index finger and thumb so that it wraps up a little.

Now let's deal with future green stems.
I took small pieces of thick wire and painted with thick green acrylic paint, specially painting so that there were drops. It looks interesting and looks like a rose stem with thorns.

In order to give texture to the leaves and sepals, I used a special texture mold in the form of a leaf:

The blanks were heated on an iron and applied to the mold sheet to make an imprint

Then, with super glue, I glued the leaves to the colored pieces of wire:

Now the most important stage has come - the assembly of rose flowers.
I decided in advance that the composition will be based on three large flowers - two pink ones and a white-pink one in the center.
Therefore, to make it easier to work, I made droplets from foil and put them on toothpicks (when the flowers are ready, I will remove the toothpicks)

I start collecting flowers. To do this, I glue petal by petal on a hot glue gun, in a circle:

At the end I glue the green sepals:

I collect a white-pink rose in the same way:

To make the composition look more beautiful and detailed, I made small buds from the remaining petals:

Now all the blanks need to be glued to the base-rim.
I do this with a hot glue gun.
