ENGLISH VERSION
Hi guys and gals, I hope you are doing well.
There are things that for us are simple but for others represent an odyssey, as is the case of the dental office, of course, there are people who unfortunately have had traumas with dentists and the vast majority of people with fear of them are older adults. When I was a teenager, I used to tease my father about not wanting to go into the office, until one day I sat down with him to ask him about his fear and he told me that he had had very bad experiences as a young man, from an extraction that included the dentist's knee in his chest, to doing the extraction without the anesthesia taking effect.
A lot of older adults have suffered great trauma with dentists, so they decide not to go to the dentist unless it is an extreme case.
Today I had to accompany my mother-in-law to the dentist, as she gets very nervous and needs moral support, she decided to go before she felt any discomfort, however she spent about 2 weeks preparing herself mentally to go to the appointment, fortunately the doctor noticed her nervousness and did everything possible to make her feel comfortable.
Tomorrow it is her turn to go again for the extraction and despite her nerves she goes with the peace of mind that she is going to be well taken care of.
