--The inspiration for this poem comes from the reddit Original Content Poetry group that functions as a community and workshop for artists to share their work and both give and receive feedback. I often produce poems with difficult themes and content warnings which I mark accordingly and understand is not everyone’s taste. However, the expectation in the community is to explain why you like or dislike a poem and it is frustrating to have or come across a collection of positive reviews while the poem itself is mercilessly downvoted.
