Many years ago while in college, l was so much in love đź’• with sports, football to be specific. in my first few months l had so much of injuries so my Dad practically stopped me from engaging in sports except indoor games. It was a very difficult thing staying away from sports but because there were eyes watching me l could not do otherwise.
When ever it was time for sports, l was in pains but couldn't help than to watch others doing the thing until my days in the boarding house had finished and l was out of college.
Few months letter l happened to visit friends and it was an opportunity for me to try doing those things l believed l could do. I had told them how good l am in playing defense and the midfield as well.
My friends did believe that l was as good as l claimed to have been so they took me to the playground expecting me to perform even more than I said, fortunately for me the game began and it was time to validate all my sayings.
Ten (10) minutes into the game l was up and doing, off curse the fans (our female friends) began doing what they knew how to do best, while they were singing my praise, l was inspired and the sports spirit was activated so l wanted to do more but right inside of me l realize that there is no more staying power, l felt my entire being was removed from me and only my body was left in the field.
I knew at this point l could no longer continue but l did not want to let my fans down so l strived to impress them..........
I was with the ball 🏀 on the run so l found myself in between three guys who came for the ball 🏀 and l remembered how we use to do it back then when men were boys but unfortunately my strength finally finished and l was down to the ground.
It was very unfortunate but it actually happened and that was the end of the game for the day, l actually knew l was not fit for the game but my mouth could not let me.
All thanks to God that no life was lost, but l did learn my great lesson and will get to the field for the game am not fit for.
