Life is a function of what we Hear, what we See and what we touch ( experience ), outside of these Three (3) elements memories can not be created and can't be in existence. As we journey into this field of knowledge, l love us to know ad also be aware that all that happens within and outside of us is a direct product of what we grant access to either known to us or unknown to us and as a matter of truth, wether we know it or not, we will certainly not escape the impact, that experience will create.
Some People belong to the school of thought that knowledge is very costly but in my recent experience with the younger generation, I found out that ignorance is far more costly than knowledge. You will agree with me that you pay more for what you don't know but pay less for what you know, when you have health challenges and you are admitted into a health care center, what ever the medical personnel tells you is what you do and in most cases you are charged high for a very little thing, but when you clearly understand how and what to do and how to do it, the job becomes very easy. In this series that we will be running, we by God's grace will attempt to make you see and understand what and what is responsible for the happenings around us and how we can practically engage them for a more better outcome in the future.
The Mind:
We are embodied spirits and inspirited bodies, (or, if you will, embodied minds and minded bodies). Mind has been variously defined as that which is responsible for one’s thoughts and feelings, the seat of the faculty of reason or the aspect of intellect and consciousness experienced as combinations of thought, perception, memory, emotion, will and imagination, including all unconscious cognitive processes. The term is often used to refer, by implication, to the thought processes of reason. The Mind is one thing that always fascinated and puzzled us, It's the only one thing that we can be certain of existing, yet apparently we do not Know exactly what it is, why it occurs and how It's occurs. The Mind is an information processing entity, it's composed of information-processing processes ( non-material processes) We are just informational entities, ever processing information and living on the informational side of the universe.
As such the mind is design to process information at all seasons, irrespective of the fact that you are aware or not with the help of what you see, touch and feel.
The Conscious Mind:
The conscious mind is our awareness at the present moment. We are aware of something on the outside us as well as some specific mental functions happening inside us. For example, we are aware of our environment, our breathing, or the people around us, if any.
The Unconscious Mind:
The subconscious mind - also known as the preconscious mind - consists of accessible information. We become aware of such information only when we direct our attention to it. This is like a "memory recall". Quite often, we walk down the street to our homes without consciously needing to be alert to our surroundings. Many a times, I have driven home from office without having to "consciously" navigate the way home! I am sure you have experienced this too. We can easily remember phone numbers that we frequently use without making any special effort. OK - to make it simple, look at it this way: when we are learning how to drive a car, we are driving "consciously" - every action is a "conscious" action - like changing gears, applying brakes, turning and so on. After a few years of driving experience, we drive the car subconsciously. The feet are doing their job, the hands theirs, and we are usually relaxed. (of course, assuming we are not driving in Bengaluru)
Having said that, I suggest you add one more condition to the above two - viz., unconscious mind. Unconscious not as in being unconscious after an accident etc., but our instinctual behaviour that makes us who we are today. We do not have easy access to the data stored in our unconscious mind - that is made up of the countless memories and experiences we have stored in the memory throughout our lifetime, even though we cannot recall on demand, most of those memories. These are the unconscious beliefs, ideas and reactions to life around us that literally drive our lives, without our knowledge.
It is possible sometimes, that the unconscious evolves into the subconscious, and then end up at the conscious level. Maybe a long-forgotten childhood memory suddenly emerges. Or a feeling of when you visit a place for the first time. We need to accept that some unconscious memories need a strong, specific trigger to bring them to consciousness; whereas, a subconscious memory can be brought to consciousness more easily.
In our next series, we will attempt to explain how information our captured in the both minds, and also help you to understand the happenings around your life, what triggers them and how you can help yourself.
Maybe so much damage have been caused already, in my next post, you will get to know the things to avoid so as to reduced the challenge if not eliminated.
Guide your mind with all diligence, the issue of life proceeds from there.
