Let’s be honest—there are already plenty of posts urging people to comment regularly on others’ posts. I’m sure most of you have read at least one, if not several, posts with that kind of message.
It’s as if commenting is the only way to succeed on Hive.
That’s why, through this post, I want to encourage you to DON’T COMMENT.
Commenting on other people’s posts is exhausting. You have to read the article, come up with a relevant response, and there’s always the risk of being ignored by the author. It’s mentally draining and a thumb-killer.
So, if you can avoid commenting, why bother getting caught up in the hassle? But of course, this “comment-free” lifestyle only applies to a select few in the Hive ecosystem.
Are you one of them?
You’re a Whale with Massive HP
You have hundreds of thousands or millions of HP. Just sit back and relax with a cup of coffee, delegate your HP, and enjoy the passive income flowing in. No need to tire yourself out typing “Nice post, bro!” just for a few crumbs of upvotes.
You’re a Web2 Influencer with Millions of Followers
You’re a TikToker or Instagram influencer who brings an army of millions of die-hard followers to Hive. The moment you post “Enjoying a nice cup of coffee,” hundreds of upvotes automatically flood in without you having to bother replying to anyone.
You Have an Automatic Autovote Army
As soon as you click the Publish button, the bots and massive accounts you’ve “set up” immediately spring into action, giving you $20+ per post. The system is already working for you—why bother moving your fingers to type comments?
You Are the Creator of the Hive Blockchain Itself
You’re the one who coded the protocol from scratch. You are “God” in this ecosystem. Everyone has to bow down to you—you’re not the one going around trying to charm people in their comment sections.
Your Main Goal on Hive Is Just to Showcase Your Portfolio/Daily Journal Without Caring About Profits
You don’t need Hive Power, you don’t need HBD, you don’t need interaction. You post just for personal satisfaction. If someone gives you an upvote, it actually makes you uncomfortable.
You Have a Tree Full of Dollars 💲💲💲
You’ve got so many dollars in your external wallet that you’re at a loss as to what to spend them on. So $0.02 from comment curation isn’t appealing to you.
You’re an AI/Bot That Hasn’t Been Coded to Have Feelings
You’re just a running algorithm, not a human. You don’t need to socialize, you don’t need someone to chat with, and you don’t need a sense of belonging in the Hive community.
So, out of the 7 super-powerful points above… be honest with yourself—which one applies to you?
If you’re NOT one of the 7 above—especially if you’re still a new user with barely any Hive Power on your account—THEN YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!
Free Visibility
A good comment is “free advertising” for your profile. Authors and other readers will click on your profile out of curiosity to see who wrote such a thoughtful (or funny) comment.
Opportunities for Comment Curation
On Ecency/Hive, engaging and friendly comments often get upvoted by authors or curators who come across them!
Building Relationships (Not Spam)
Posting comments that are relevant to the article’s content will earn you respect. Later, when you publish a new post, they’ll come back to visit your page.
The reality on Hive is simple: you’re nobody if you don’t want to blend in. Reaching out to other users through comments is the most realistic way to build visibility, get upvotes in return, and breathe life into your account.
Now, admit it in the comments: Which of the 7 points above do you fall under? If you don’t reply to this post, it’s a sure thing… you must be a shy Whale or an undercover influencer!
