Good catch phrase no doubt, but I had to look at the person offering me something that will change my life and make me unstoppable. Now, I am not trying to be mean or wicked with my words, I have to know what value I will be getting g when someone offers to give me something that will change my life.
He could as well change it for the worse.
I once lived on the streets and during that time, I had to school myself through every opportunity I got. I would pick magazines from trash, newspapers that are thrown away I carefully collect to make sure I read. I would borrow books from people who could afford to trust me not to sell it for food.
I knew I had to read and keep learning and I never stopped.
Many miss the opportunity to grasp at the silver linings because, it doesn't look silvery enough.
As the book seller ranted on telling me the composition of the various books he holds, I wonder why he wasn't applying the principles he was selling me?
I wondered why he couldn't be seen as doing very well given that, he has access to numerous life-changing materials?
Does reading to know how to sell a book make it impossible to know how to use it for personal gains?
Is it really true that knowledge not applied will end up being unfruitful?
I believe reading and then applying the words as we have read and probably assimilated to real life situations is KEY.
The words we spew on daily and those we hear, are mighty and they have the ability to change destinies.
I don't want to be like the book seller who has within his reach, so much ingredients to make others rich but goes around looking tattered and unkempt.
If I was the bookseller, I believe I will do way better than just cramming the l8nes with which I want to use to make a sale.
