PREFACE
This teachers' manual is made up of three parts: they deal with the various pedagogical aspects of the high school physics programme.
Part I discusses the mathematical requirements, curriculum content and make-up approach and presentation of the course, and evaluation and testing
Part Il instructs in detail how to teach Grade Nine text: The accompanying handouts form an important part of the course manual and are to be studied carefully and thoroughly. Study sequence for the teachers' course manual is also given.
Part Ill describes
teaching schedule (theory)
teaching schedule (practical)
lesson planning and preparation composition and structure pattern of the course
lesson and period allocation
teaching plans for all chapters
Sample data from actual laboratory practicals are provided to help orient and motivate students and staff alike so that practicals may not become "horror of horrors" to the same!o
Please understand that the practicals help students to understand the subject matter more fully and to stimulate interest in the applications of physics in patticular and science and technology in general in the real world (industry).
It is conceivable that all schools may not be in a position to introduce all (14) laboratory experiments. All schoolsshould attempt to teach at least a maximum of (10) experiments. It is suggested that all schools count only 10 practicals (maximum) that students actually can perform under the supervision of teachers with qualifications in physics.
