"Battle of Los Angeles" was a mass UFO sighting and incident over California in 1942 and is possibly one of the most mysterious incidents of World War II and a legendary tale in UFO lore.
Sightings on February 24–25 in 1942 which is known as The Battle of Los Angeles or The Great Los Angeles Air Raid and took place in the midst of World War II. At 3:16 air raid sirens sounded throughout Los Angeles County a total blackout was ordered. The 37th Coast Artillery Brigade began firing .50 caliber machine guns and 12.8-pound anti-aircraft shells into the air at reported aircraft and the artillery fire continued sporadically until 4:14 am when an "all clear" was sounded. The report that 1,430 Anti-Aircraft rounds were fired at unidentified objects in the early the morning of February 25, 1942.
