Hola hivers, today I want to share these bridal photos we took after she finished getting ready before heading to the altar. The bride is from Ecuador, Protestant by religion, and it's interesting how these factors add up and end up influencing what she expects from this day. I mention this because after finishing her makeup, she didn't feel satisfied with what the makeup artist had done, and he had to remove the makeup to adjust to what she was looking for. This obviously affected the time I had available afterward, but I managed to do my best in record time.
Hi hivers, espero que estén bien hoy quiero compartirles estas fotos para novia que hicimos al finalizar sus preparativos para luego ir al altar. La chica es de nacionalidad ecuatoriana, religión protestante y es curioso cómo estas cosas se suman y terminan afectando lo que espera de este día. Lo comento porque al finalizar el maquillaje, ella no se sentía nada conforme con lo que había hecho el maquillador y él tuvo que retirar el maquillaje para acoplarse a lo que ella buscaba. Esto terminó obviamente afectando en el tiempo que después yo tuve disponible, pero pude hacer lo mejor en tiempo récord.
For the rest of the wedding, there were also significant differences in how the event unfolded. As a Venezuelan, I'm used to weddings where there's a lot of dancing, and the appetizers are usually served by waiters moving around the event. But in this service, they were served per table, and the event's entertainment, instead of being mobilized to the dance floor, consisted of many 'games' involving the guests.
Para el resto de la boda también surgieron diferencias importantes en cuanto a cómo se desarrolló el evento. Como venezolano, estoy acostumbrado a que en una boda se baile mucho y los pasapalos regularmente los entregan los mesoneros moviéndose por el evento, pero en este servicio era por mesa y el entretenimiento del evento en vez de estar movilizado a la pista de baile se caracterizó por muchos 'juegos' relacionados con los invitados.
For me, this type of event is 'boring,' and I say that with quotes because I'm used to a different rhythm. It's very likely that my appreciation is biased by my idiosyncrasy; for them, it might have been super fun and filled with magical moments. But for me, it felt odd because I also didn't feel comfortable doing documentary photography of these 'games,' mainly because if I got too close, I obstructed the view of the other guests.
Para mí, este tipo de eventos es 'aburrido', y lo digo entre comillas porque estoy acostumbrado a otro ritmo. Es muy probable que mi apreciación esté sesgada por mi idiosincrasia; para ellos quizás fue súper divertido y lleno de momentos mágicos. Pero para mí fue raro porque tampoco me sentía cómodo haciendo la fotografía documental de estos 'juegos', principalmente porque si me acercaba demasiado obstaculizaba la vista del resto de invitados.
