That makes it clear that steps really do need to be taken to handle large volumes of network traffic. Based on how Ethereum handled CrytpoKitties imagine how it would handle the traffic from just a moderately popular game or MMO which has exponentially more traffic and database access than something like CrytpoKitties did.
