I believe that education exists in many ways that do not require punishment, but the certainty of the person who is transmitting knowledge and knowing how to take it to each person and class in a way that makes them like it.

We needed the punishment to appreciate the knowledge we were getting.

I do not see anything wrong with his methods as long as I can go to any mathematics exams and do well without breaking a sweat, then, I am grateful for the method my teacher used back then

It built my confidence level too.....
