Hey ma'am, this morning, my neighbor did something that shocked me

I was lying down responding to comments on my post, when I heard a knock on my door

I opened up and he had a plate of freshly peeled and decorated paw-paw fruit for me

Oh my God! I was astonished. After thanking him heartily and receiving the gift, I went inside and thought, "oh my, fruits for breakfast, not bad"

But then, my mind decided to analysis the reasons behind the early morning gift.

My head explained something I read in a book once to me, "money creates an ever-expanding circle of influence"

The thing is I allowed him a little bit of access into my life. He is a young boy who just finished high school, and he is preparing to get into the University. So, I playfully talk to him every now and then. Most times, he will come around and joking complain of being hungry, and I will jokingly ask him to enter the kitchen and prepare something for both of us.

He is always very happy to do it, and believe me, he is a good cook(it surprises me because he is so tiny.... hehehe). We do this often, and I could always feel a bit of dependency from his end. I usually think it's a privilege to be someone he can depend on, if he is hungry.

Yesterday, in the morning, he came around, and asked if I had oil, I didn't, I had used up the old one, no, he was the one who used it the last time to prepare spaghetti for us.... lol

So, he went to my neighbor's house and got it but returned with a few plantain, brought my gas cylinder down, and boiled them. He asked that I joined him when he was done, I refused because it was too small for two.... but I took a bite as a sign of appreciation, and he went to his room with it.

This morning as he brought those paw-paw fruits, I felt, he was trying to say thank you because I always share my abundance with him. I felt happy that my acts of kindness is appreciated, and that it puts me in the heart of someone

For someone out there reading this comment, your act of kindness may not come from the same people who you share your abundance with, but, know that mother nature isn't sleeping, she watches over all of us.

And you should always give, because givers never lack. Don't hoard, you can never be in abundance if you do.

Edit: I just had the last bite of that fruit .... hehehehe.....I enjoyed it ☺️πŸ₯ΊπŸ™ˆπŸ™‚
