Lol
I apologise for laughing but I usually see indian movies where married people stay with their family and how each individual interferes with the lives of one another
I didn't know why anyone should tolerate living with their in-laws when they are all rich and can afford a house of their own
Now that you have explained, that it is a sacred tradition, I just learned a new thing today
Where I come from, we experience the living together sort of lifestyle if the married couple can't afford a place of their own yet
Even with that, the person who suffers from this decision is always the wife.
And that is because, her husband's sister and mother will always be judging all their actions and trying to interfere in her marriage
The woman in question is rarely living in peace or happiness, so everyday, she will drum the idea of building their private house into her husband's ears
You know, what I said above is something I witnessed in marriages close to me as a child
But growing up I discover, every act has always been because each individual is seeking power and control over the other party
So if it happens that I end up in a joint family marriage, I do not need to beat myself up too much
All I need to do is to seduce each member of my husband's family, earning their love, and respect
Being in their good book, gives me an advantage
That doesn't mean I will not want to live in a place away from them, I would
But what happens if I am married to a prince or a king... Lol. I am stuck with them, so I need to learn to how to live with them happily
