The water tower Karosta (military port) in Liepaja is an important part of the historical landscape of the “Sea City” of the former Liepaja prison of the Russian Tsar Alexander III. The exact time of construction of the water tower is not known. Written sources mention the period from 1903 to 1905. The author of the project is also unknown, but St. Petersburg architect Stefan Galenzovsky is mentioned in the available literary sources.
