One of the most impressive places in Liepaja for fans and admirers of military history, fortresses and various kinds of fortifications are certainly the powerful ruins of the pre-revolutionary line of naval defense of Libava. This is the so-called 3rd coastal battery, located on the northern outskirts of Karosta, part of the city, which at the end of the 19th century was created as an independent urban environment for the naval base of the Russian Empire.
