"What did you do to my husband?!" My wife rambled on as I approached. "My…husband…," I was feeling tingly, and my mouth was getting dry.
"Now come here," I commanded, pointing a finger at my wife. She walked towards me with her nose angled up.
I opened the door, ready to run when I saw my wife standing in front of me. I was frozen in place. I was helpless.
"You are such a naughty, naughty girl," she smiled at me.
"Now, we need to work on this relationship. Do you know what that requires?" the words felt strange on my lips, as I spoke I closed my mouth and waited for a response.
"I have an idea," she responded, tilting her head to the side.
I could not remember what had happened last night. I had never been black out drunk in my life. The only explanation was that my wife had poisoned me. She had probably put something in my food to knock me out and then put a spell on me so now she had full control of my body.
I looked over to see if I was wearing her chastity belt. Nothing under my clothes was out of the ordinary. I had to not be under any magic. I knew how to get out of a spell. I just needed to speak my name or point at myself.
"My name is Charles Bennett." I relaxed my body a little.
"What a strange name," she stated. "I will call you Bob. I guess that is what you were called before me, anyway."
"How do you know what my name used to be? I have never told you my name."
"Because…"
"Because why?" I was curious why my wife was the only one that knew my name.
"Because I am the one that gave you your name," she giggled like a school girl.
"What a strange, strange woman," I thought to myself. "Now, now," I snapped her out of her stupor. "It is time to get to work."
"Work," she repeated.
"Yes, yes," I stated. "I am going to make this our best year ever. I am leaving my job and starting my own business."
"Oh, wow," she looked at me with stars in her eyes. "That makes me so excited."
"I know, I know. I will call you at lunch to see what you have been doing today."
I pulled into the diner a little after 10:00, the smell of bacon and eggs filled the air. I knew this would be a new start for the both of us. She had never gotten a chance to go far in her life but now, I was going to change all of that for her.
After eating his breakfast, Bob stated that he had done a little bit of work on the property I had purchased the year prior. He went on to explain that I would have to do a lot of work on the physical plant because of the fresh dirt I had put on it. I needed to clear away all the rocks, limbs and rocks from the trees in order for a fence to be able to be built. He went on to explain that he would be out every day working on the grounds for the next few months, in order to get me where I needed to be in time for the opening of the school.
I told Bob that I would schedule him for the day shift for now. I wanted to see if this lifestyle interested him and, if he was going to work more than one day a week, I had to keep someone that could.
As he drove away; I thought to myself how great of a worker he was and how excited I was to be starting a new business.
The next morning I woke up excited to see what Bob had done with the property. I was even more excited to see what kind of work he had been doing. The property was clear of branches and brush and in the past three days, Bob had all the rock removed from the front of the property.
Bob and I had also spent a lot of time together. The first time he ever told me his name was the first time I was fully aware of what a man looked like. Later, after we had been married for several years, I concluded he was homosexual by his facial expression when he looked at me. I was confused because my husband was totally straight. If there was one thing I knew about him, he was straight.
I dismissed myself for the day, to spend some time with my new husband.
The next couple of days Bob was working the fence and had to fetch water from the well. The guy was a little slow, but I felt the fence was being installed correctly. The next couple of days we moved dirt from the bed of the property to the water and I felt the fence was almost complete.
On the third day I woke up to see the house was surrounded with 100 feet of chain link fence, with a brush clearing in the back. He had been working so much overtime and I had been gone the entire day that I had completely forgotten to tell him to water the chickens.
He had to go in the morning to get water before he could start work. I could only make it out a few miles from the house before Bob had to head home for the day. The other mules and I agreed to take over for him.
Bob was a bit uneasy standing in the yard at first because the fence was so high, but he put his head on the fence and began to slide down the fence. He had been working so much I was sure that he would break his neck, he was sure to cut his face, break his glasses and pierce one of his eyes. He had actually slid down about 100 feet before he had to come back. It was time for him to call it a night.
I worked the next morning alone in the brush clearing in back of the fence. I worked on the fence until about noon when I began to feel nauseous and dizzy. I excused myself from my work and made my way towards the house. It had been warm out, but the wind was picking up and had started to get colder. I was scared because it had been raining when I left that morning and all of the sites around me had been transforming into swamps. I started to run towards the house when I slipped and fell head first into the muck. I felt something sharp prick into my cheek; and as I turned my head I saw the tip of the knife standing in the mud ahead of me. I grabbed the knife and scrambled to my feet. I brushed the muck from my face and breathed heavily as the rain started to pour down the field.
