I
We played ten-ten, Suwe, game boy, hide and seek馃檲, in and out, police and thief and then enjoyed visiting our neighbors, Families and friends.
There was no bottled water馃嵍, we drank water from the tap or buy Ice-water 馃毎 if we had a drink, we would share the same bottle of juice...after giving it a wipe with our mucky sleeves, We had a tv only to be switched on at 4pm on weekdays and 10am on weekends; rode our bikes 馃毑 or played in the rain for hours, "barefoot".馃暟There was no such thing as a mobile phone or any other electronic device 馃摰. We weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING (except maybe the Nurse, the soldiers at school and our parents 馃槈) If someone had a fight, that's what it was...a fist fight馃憡. Kids didn't have guns馃敨 or knives馃敧, we played cowboys & crooks. 馃弴The street lights 馃挕were our curfew or until your Mom shouted through the window. School was mandatory, 鉁忥笍馃搾.
The days of going to school in groups just so we could gist and buy dankuwa,Gudygudy and condense milk with our pocket money. And tales of Kidnapper's scare everywhere and mom would warn us not to collect sweet from a stranger if u dont want to turn to a tuber of yam. Lol.
We would NOT disrespect our elders馃懘馃徏馃懙馃徏 because we knew we'd get an ass whooping, with the belt, shoe or wooden spoon not forgetting the koboko invisibly hidden in every corner of the house. (Inter-street football match was superb during our time)
Trekking was our best means of transportation then...
