I wouldn't be too strict on the 2 to 3 months relocation. Go by what you feel, when a place sucks, then move one sooner (though maybe it'll teach something when sticking to such place) and when you like someplace, stay as long as you feel like. I've been to many areas on our globe and I learned some places are super whilst others may not sound/feels super at all, but in the end, can have their own charm.
