It took a bit more than some moments, but finally, I can respond to your question: "Is there such a thing as 'bad' music?". As you know, at times I can state: "Yes, there is bad music out there, a lot of it!". But today, I'm in a happy mood. No idea why. Would it maybe be the winter sun high in the sky? Would it be the breakthrough I had yesterday figuring out a solution for one of my customers? Would it be a great conversation I had with a hiring manager I had yesterday late afternoon? I really don't, but I do know my response to your question this morning is: "No, bad music doesn't exist." However, I wished for much of the music treated and played is never exposed to me! {LOL} That said, when I happen to hear music that doesn't resonate with me at all, it reminds me how the music I do like, plays with my (happy) emotions.

Little anicdote: Yesterday evening I was super tired and decided I didn't want to do anything, not even watch a rerun of the great movie 'a beautiful mind'. But zapping all night was not an option as well, so I decided to watch a movie about some ex-marines joining the drug cartels to smuggle their shit, and some other guy intending to fight them. Turned out this fighting guy was Jean Claude van Damme. WHen I noticed he was the star of the movie, I had to tell myself: "This evening, let's try and watch this one!" I never watched a Jean Claude van Damme movie for more than a few minutes. This time I should give him a chance though. It took me 30-some minutes before I zapped away from the movie. It was terrible! Very bad arrangements. Superbad dialogues. Not so good fighting scenes. D*rn: something like 'bad movies' does exist! That's clear to me :)

When bad movies do exist, maybe also bad music exist?

Anyways, let's stick to what I said before: "No, bad music doesn't exist."

Jean Michel Jarre: Though massively old, a perfect piece of music. Should have that album on CD somewhere in my storage room. I think I have most of these guys work either on tape or CD.

Whitney Houston: absolute beautiful voice, hence I love her music. But, she created music in a genre I'm not particularly fond of. But still, her voice! pfffff

The Jazz one I really like as well. The Rock and Grunge: Not so much to my taste, but am pretty sure also these pieces are not bad music since I stick to what I've said before: "No, bad music doesn't exist."

What I do wonder though, is all music you shared here (except Whitney) somehow to your liking? Couldn't 100% follow your post and what your personal thoughts are about eg the electronic artists JMJarre, or the Classical and Jazz shares?
