Sometimes I am chachi!
I am Edioretza that is the name my parents gave me, I had no nickname at home because they have always called me by my name, they have never even used "edi" or "edio" to call me, as my friends and acquaintances have done.
Many when they discover how my name is read backwards call me that way for some time, as if it were a discovery... But that is not the nickname that I will tell you, I do have a nickname only that this is only said to me by a small number of people: Many years ago as a child, we lived next to a family, we not only became friends, but the lady became my godmother and her commitment to me since then has been like that of another mother for me so I feel, she was already the mother of a child when we met, then she had two more children a girl Daniela and a boy Daniel, whom I love very much in fact Daniela is one of my dearest friends is very important to me.
As I said in the beginning sometimes I am chachi, when my godmother used to call us my sister and to play with the children they called us "las muchachas" they were very small and trying to call us they could only say "las chachas" that was like that for a long time even when they learned to speak ... until "chacha" was transformed into "chachi".
I remember fondly the times we met in the street or she saw me no matter the distance or who I was with and she, Daniela simply shouted "chaaaaaaachiiiiiiii", so much so that my godmother and all her family (sisters, cousins, even friends) call me that way, but that nickname is only from them to me and sometimes also for my sister.
I am still la chachi after 30 years, I recently started a new job online and she works there too and talking to them about me, she referred to me as la chachi haha....
She has varied the nickname a bit between chachi and coma (it's short for comadre, in Spanish, since she is my son's godmother).
Somehow it is exclusive only to them for me. it not only represents friendship, but also the affection and fondness we feel for each other.
