I somewhat disagree with that assessment and believe that they actually thought a stunt like this would get them on the radar enough to pump the token further and continue to jumpstart their new project. Of course bootstrapping a new asset is not truly focused in sustainability but more along the lines of: "If I just had x dollars I could scale up and make more than x dollars." So marketing to investment capital and such, but a stunt like this isn't going to appeal to real legitimate investors but rather pump & dump greed-monsters so you get what you pay for I suppose.

Still unclear as to whether the founders of this project want a lasting project or plan on rugpulling in one way or another. Making the claim that you've proven a usecase would seem to imply they care about sustainability, but also everyone has to pretend like that's what they care about regardless of any truth to the matter.
