When I was new around here (3 years ago... wow) I feel like the easiest way to get noticed was to write something insightful (comment) on other people's blogs. But I also needed to have my own content in case they decided to check me out.

However, a lot has changed since then, and the LEO community is very small at the moment so it's a lot easier to get attention. It took me like a year of consistent interaction before I started being taken seriously. Hopefully it's easier today than it was back then. This should be the case because we aren't in a full blown bull run yet. When money is flying everywhere it's hard to get noticed, and many will be drowned out by the noise.
