The top 20 accounts taking 50% of the rewards pool is doing us no favors, imo.
What makes that fact interesting to 1000's of users?
Maybe 200 accounts benefit from this arrangement, but that leaves far more unsatisfied players to hold back our reputation when they explain to their friends the way the hive math works.
Can you show me how this is different on any other platform like Medium, Youtube, or Twitch?
This is quite simply how it works.
Content creation and networking are very hard work.
And most people either refuse to do the work, aren't talented enough, or they can't do the work because it doesn't pay enough to bootstrap itself. Exactly how do you propose we fix the inevitable nature of the attention economy?
rather than concentrate it in hands that already break the game
People keep making this argument and yet there is zero data to back it up and when I ask for data I'm given a chart that proves my point. Decentralization is happening. Printing HBD creates deflation not inflation. All the on-chain data supports the hypothesis.
I'm honestly tired of being told this is a problem with nothing to back it up.
Yet, here 'we' are, our large stakeholders are trying to replicate the fiat model.
Again, no evidence supports the theory that large stakeholders are getting larger by printing money out and giving it to themselves. That's EXACTLY why free downvotes exist: to prevent that exact behavior. And yet users such as yourself will look at it and make the exact opposite claim with no on-chain data to back it up. It's all feel-based arguments.
Every stakeholder has the ability to generate like 10% APR from curation.
This is basic math.
If I have 2M Hive and I get 200k curation in a year.
And a pleb has 200 Hive and gets 20 Hive a year.
Well then guess what?
The distribution has not changed.
The percentages have not changed.
This type of linear thinking with zero on-chain data to back it up is wrong.
End of story.
Want to know why some whales keep getting more and more stake?
Because they are buying low and selling high and actually supporting and stabilizing the network.
Meanwhile the plebs that buy high and sell low complain that it's not fair as they actively damage the network with their own terrible money management strategy. Hm yeah sorry not sorry figure your shit out.
You can't just say things and expect them to magically happen. Anyone can be like, "Hey we should be distributing the token more widely." Yeah? So what? Who cares? That statement is going to be true 100% of the time no matter how good the distribution actually gets. Does anyone have a plan to get it done? Nope. Does anyone with a plan actually want to put any time into actually enacting the plan? Nope. It's all lip-service and virtue signaling.
