RE: Using Leverage Correctly
Yep you got him now. Margin is the collateral and leverage is what we borrow from it.

RE: Halving Pump/Dump Incoming?
Yeah we will have to wait and see but these days my crypto arsenal is BTC, HIVE, HBD, and RUNE. All 4 of these assets do a completely different thing and they are all uncorrelated. Volatility trading strong

RE: Last Epoch
WOW RANDOM I bought this game yesterday and played it to level 4 because a friend of mine from way back in the day wanted to play it with me. It's getting way more adoption than expected and the guys who

Any coin can get adoption at any time for any reason. Looking at previous price action as an indicator is automatically going to lead us astray. It hasn't happened yet, and what you are doing is looking

RE: Halving Pump/Dump Incoming?
There are so many bears selling their BTC to Blackrock. Eventually we hit supply shock and it's just gone. Obviously you thought this should of happened sooner. I tend to agree but also the bears are

Basically trades flat in a sine wave across cycles. Business as usual. Volatility trading is the obvious move.

Yep same thing happened to me except I was reading a tweet that was less than a minute old that showed a chart of BTC being $53k+. Coingecko said $51k I refreshed it and it was indeed above $53k.

RE: Halving Pump/Dump Incoming?
We got a very obvious blow-off-top volcano in summer 2019 that clearly was not the grand finale and marked more of a middle point. It's a shape that can pop up pretty much anywhere. They take at least

RE: Halving Pump/Dump Incoming?
Isn't the blow-off top supposed to happen a few good months after the halving? Nah the big one happens a full year after. Or in this case maybe October 2025 looking at previous patterns. Happened in 2013,

RE: Red Flag: Hive Debt Ratio Going up in the Bull
The top 20 accounts taking 50% of the rewards pool is doing us no favors, imo. What makes that fact interesting to 1000's of users? Maybe 200 accounts benefit from this arrangement, but that leaves far

The fees on Bitcoin are quite absurd. But also if Hive was as broadly adopted as BTC I think the cost of fees would be even higher. Or rather users would have to find dapp operators willing to give away

"Debt" and derivatives get weirdly complex when mixed in an ocean of economic principal.

1/400,000,000 is bigger than 1/500,000,000, yes? No because Hive is not a unit of account. It's collateral that yield farms, governance power, and bandwidth all at once. If my collateral gets

RE: Re: If Hive were to hit $10, how much would you keep?
Because that kind of FOMO would basically send 80% of our new users to the poor house and they'd full on rage quit. The easiest path for an x200 is clearly a flywheel with HBD. Basically the same shit

On its own, HBD is an instrument to short HIVE. Yes but can you really short a network by going long on a derivative collateralized by the short? Again, none of this is very simple. It very much depends

I'm pretty taken aback by the prospect of this definition of debt being "strict". Debt is money borrowed from a lender and owed back at interest." Do you think anyone on the street is going

All of it dilutes my 1 hive. Really? Interesting. Have you tried looking at your own wallet? It generates HBD. When a central bank prints money out of thin air are they thinking "hm maybe I shouldn't

For hbd as debt, wouldn't every stakeholder be on the hook when inflation dilutes their holdings? Well... first of all you don't seem to be factoring in that HBD printed from the reward pool and issued

RE: How To Increase Value Of A Digital Platform Without Adding Users
Many like to believe the only way to increase the value of a network is to pump money from the outside into it. But most of the actual value is going to be generated from the inside.
