Saludos amantes del DIY y el reciclaje. Hace tiempo que no publico en la comunidad de Hive Diy, pero me alegra mucho estar nuevamente de vuelta. El día de hoy vengo a mostrarles el paso a paso de una reparación - restauración que le realicé a una lámpara eléctrica. Esta curiosa lámpara consta de tres partes principales: una linterna en la base, una lámpara plegable en el medio y una semi bola de discoteca en la parte superior. Esta lámpara la encontré en el cuarto de los regueros de mi suegro, el cual tiene una costumbre muy curiosa que lo lleva a querer guardar todo y no botar nada a la basura, pues cree que todo se puede reutilizar. Una forma de pensar bastante envidiable según pienso yo.
Greetings DIY and recycling lovers. It's been a while since I last posted in the Hive Diy community, but I'm glad to be back again. Today I come to show you the step by step of a repair - restoration I made to an electric lamp. This curious lamp consists of three main parts: a lantern at the base, a folding lamp in the middle and a semi disco ball at the top. I found this lamp in my father-in-law's garbage room, who has a very curious habit that makes him want to keep everything and not throw anything away, because he believes that everything can be reused. A very enviable way of thinking according to me.

Pues bien, para realizar la reparación - restauración utilicé las herramientas de mi maletín de técnico en electrónica. Haciendo principal uso de los:
- Desarmadores
- Voltímetro
- Pinzas de corte
- Pinza de sujeción
- Pelacables
Well, to carry out the repair - restoration I used the tools in my electronics technician's briefcase. Making main use of the:
- Screwdrivers
- Voltmeter
- Cutting tweezers
- Tweezers
- Wire strippers
📋 Paso-a-paso // Step-by-step 📋
Para empezar comencé retirando las precintas que unían todas las piezas sueltas producto de la fractura de la estructura externa de la lámpara.
To begin with, I started by removing the seals that joined all the loose pieces resulting from the fracture of the external structure of the lamp.
Una vez que ya estaba libre de las cintas adhesivas empecé a revisar por donde es que se desarmaba y me percate de que la linterna de abajo tenía rosca en la tapa.
Once it was free of the adhesive tapes I started to check where it was disassembled and I noticed that the bottom flashlight was threaded into the cap.
Luego de retirar la linterna me doy cuenta de que hay un tornillo en el centro de la estructura que atravesaba toda la lámpara y al parecer era eso lo que mantenía unida las tres partes. Procedo a retirarlo, e inmediatamente toda la estructura de la lámpara sede y se separa. No sin antes revelarme tres nuevos trozos de plásticos provenientes de la parte superior que se encontraban dentro del cuerpo de la lámpara.
After removing the flashlight I realize that there is a screw in the center of the structure that went through the entire lamp and apparently that was what held the three parts together. I proceed to remove it, and immediately the whole structure of the lamp comes apart. Not before revealing to me three new pieces of plastic from the top that were inside the body of the lamp.
Ya con todo prácticamente desarmado me enfoco en la parte superior donde se encuentra la semi bola de discoteca. Sinceramente, mi objetivo siempre fue recuperar esa parte del objeto, ya que es la más divertida. Para independizar la parte superior solo tuve que desoldar dos cables, uno que iba conectado al circuito principal de la controladora de la lampara y otro cable que iba más abajo hasta el interruptor.
With everything practically disassembled, I focus on the upper part where the semi disco ball is located. Honestly, my goal was always to recover that part of the object, as it is the most fun. To make the upper part independent I only had to unsolder two wires, one that was connected to the main circuit of the lamp controller and another wire that went further down to the switch.
Ya con la parte superior separada me enfoco en el mecanismo de giro de la semi bola, ya que al intentar girarlo con la mano me oponía muchísima resistencia. Al desarmar el mecanismo de giro me encuentro con que está perfectamente engrasado, así que entonces me pongo a probar el motor.
Now with the upper part separated I focus on the turning mechanism of the semi-ball, since when I tried to turn it by hand it opposed me a lot of resistance. When I disassemble the turning mechanism I find that it is perfectly greased, so then I start to test the motor.
Para mi sorpresa, todo funcionaba correctamente así que reensamblé nuevamente el sistema de giro y al probarlo empezó a funcionar bien. O sea que si tenía algo no les puedo decir a ciencia cierta que era 🤷♂.
To my surprise, everything was working properly so I reassembled the turning system and when I tested it, it started working fine. So if there was something wrong with it, I can't say for sure what it was 🤷♂.
Llegados a este punto pensé en crear una nueva base y solo reutilizar la parte superior. Pero tras un momento de reflexión decidí no hacerlo porque, ¿de qué serviría tanto elogio al reciclaje y a la reutilización si ya iba a desechar las otras partes de la lámpara que curiosamente comprobé y funcionaban bien?
At this point I thought about creating a new base and only reusing the top part. But after a moment of reflection I decided not to do it because, what would be the point of so much praise for recycling and reuse if I was already going to discard the other parts of the lamp that curiously I checked and they worked fine?
Así que ya había cambiado de objetivo. Volví a unir la parte superior con el resto de la lámpara soldando nuevamente los cables azul y amarillo en sus respectivos lugares.
So I had already changed the lens. I reattached the top to the rest of the lamp by re-soldering the blue and yellow wires in their respective places.
Seguidamente, reensamblé la parte inferior de la lámpara para centrarme en la parte superior, ya que a diferencia de la inferior y la del medio, la superior estaba muy dañada.
Next, I reassembled the bottom of the lamp to focus on the top, as unlike the bottom and middle, the top was badly damaged.
Para reconstruir la parte superior utilicé un pegamento de secado rápido llamado Super Glu. Gracias a este pegamento pude volver a unir todos los plásticos rotos aunque lastimosamente faltaba uno.
To rebuild the top I used a fast drying glue called Super Glu. Thanks to this glue I was able to reattach all the broken plastics although unfortunately one was missing.
Luego de esto, añadí una batería de litio para garantizar que la lámpara estuviese operativa una vez retirada la alimentación eléctrica, ya que esa era su función como tal. Luego la conecté a la corriente y pude medir si los voltajes eran correctos y estaban disponibles todas sus funcionalidades.
After this, I added a lithium battery to ensure that the lamp would be operational once the power supply was removed, as that was its function as such. I then connected it to power and was able to measure if the voltages were correct and all of its functionality was available.
Posteriormente, coloqué la tapa superior, la cual también tuve que pegarle una parte y le atornillé el sistema de giro junto con las luces y posteriormente atornillé también la semi bola de discoteca.
Later, I placed the top cover, which I also had to glue a part of it and screwed the turning system together with the lights and later I also screwed the semi disco ball.
Y pues eso sería todo. Puede ser que se vea un poco cutre, pero es una lámpara funcional que puede resolver más de un problema ante los apagones muy frecuentes que hay en mi país. Sin más que decir se despide su amigo 
And that would be all. It may look a bit shabby, but it is a functional lamp that can solve more than one problem with the very frequent blackouts in my country. Without further ado, your friend
