HAVE A GOOD CONSCIENCE II
“And Paul, earnestly beholding the council said, men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day”
Acts 23:1
Beloved, a good conscience is a requirement for living a life conscious of, and ready for eternity with Jesus Christ in Heaven. Nothing defiled will enter Heaven.
What is a good conscience?
1 A living and sensitive conscience: One that receives the witness of the Holy Spirit. It can be pricked by truth. “1 say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 9:1).
- A knowledgeable and stable conscience: This is the kind that stands on the truth of the Word of God “Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled” (1 Corinthians 8:7).
- A mature and sacrificial conscience: This is a kind that considers and understands the weaker believer; and lives sacrificially to help others become stronger in faith.
