We need to Fight for Peace! We need to act, and we need to act fast because the drums of war are sounding louder than ever now.
What can we do? We can make a noise. We can try. We can organize a global peace rally. Initially I wanted to call this a "Pause For Peace". Now I'm open to calling it a "Party For Peace", a "Protest For Peace", or anything really. The name doesn't matter so much as the idea, and the idea is simple. We need to light the fires and start a movement, a global movement. A day when all the people of the world will come together in the name of Global Peace. A day when all the people who love peace come together and actually fight for it. This is what it means to fight for peace. It means to stand up and boldly declare that you will not work for a system that spreads war and violence all over the globe, that you will not tacitly support such a system.
We the people of the world can do this and we must. We have a responsibility to try. The lives of millions of people around the world are counting on us, literally. If we do nothing, they will die, and their blood will be on our hands because we stood by and watched it happen. If we do nothing, we are responsible for the deaths of everyone who is lost just as much as the Governments and Corporations who are involved in the killing directly. This is why we must try. We are obliged morally to try.
How do we get started? By getting organized. If you feel the calling to do something, start by talking about it. Email me at [email protected] to talk about next steps. Email others who might be interested. Use social media to get others involved. We need self-selecting individuals to get involved in this and to take charge. This is not my baby, this is not my protest, this is the world's protest, and only the people of the world can make it happen. It doesn't matter if you think there is nothing you can do, let me assure you, there is plenty you can do. You are skilled. You have influence. You do matter. Your skills are needed.
We get organized and we spread the message quickly around the globe. Self selecting leaders in every region begin taking responsibility for planning and organization in their own region. We pick a date, and we begin a protest. It's this simple. We will take everything in stride. The details will fall in place. We will communicate effectively and solve problems as they arise.
This isn't going to be easy, I know, but there is a war going on here people. People are dying. We need to act now to make a change happen.
