Have you read any of the books about altcoins by Christopher P. Thompson? (Peercoin - History of the First Year, Reddcoin, DigiByte, Dogecoin etc.)
Are they useful or just lazy collections of data? I don't care if they're dry and detailed, as long as I can use them to write more exciting stories.
