Downvoted for promoting the Bytecoin scam with misinformation.

Monero was not created using that coin generator, and even the websites you're linking to don't claim that. They do claim that Bytecoin was created in 2012, which has been proven to be a lie.

When you click on CryptoNoteStarter's link to GitHub, you can see that the CryptoNote reference code hasn't been updated for 4 years. I'd be surprised if the CryptoNoteStarter has been updated. Using it to create a coin today will probably result in many known vulnerabilities, more serious than the one fixed bug you're blowing out of proportion here.
