Well, in the part we live in, we don't have very many snakes at all. In matter of fact, I think we see less snakes here than we did when we lived in the States! This is mainly because when people see them, they kill, even if they aren't dangerous. This lead to being very few, that is in our area. However, if you were to go into the heart of the Amazon, that would be a different story.
