Crop rotation is an important and proven technique - but it has its limits, for example it is well-known to be generally applied to short term rotational crops.

Agroforestry has other tools and strategies that govern how we add in additional forestry layers. Living fences, contour terracing and timber delimitation, these are techniques we use and study.
