It is unfortunate that you struggling with Ecency. Let us address your concerns one by one.

1. Have you tried Classic Edit which shows you markdown and html codes? Opening content with new Editor expects that there are no plain html in content, if there it won't be able to offer you edit. Classic Edit is the way to go.
2. Jumping label, we can work on and fix.
