Yesterday I tempted (or Taunted) you with the promise of another great song today
Mainly because I couldn't make my mind up which one of 2 to post yesterday
I hope you liked the one I did post
Thank you to hockney@hockney for his feedback, and his suggestion of Paul Kelly's 'How to Make Gravy'and John Prine's 'Christmas in Prison'
Very interesting choices; and I'm always open to more

I hope you enjoyed Greg Lake yesterday, and could see why I had to include it in this list if you've not heard it before
If you didn't hear it yesterday I've included a link to it at the end of this post.
In the 70s a lot of artists released songs specifically for the Christmas market
Some, like Lake's, and today's song were excellent, but some were just dreadful, mushy pap, and cynically released to try to garner extra sales from mugs.
One of my favourites was released in this period and it still earns over 拢Million in royalties every year
If only I could earn that from my books 馃槑
Any guesses what vthat song is?
You'll hear it in the bars, shops, and on the radio every year
They even used it in NCIS
On a sunny day in L.A.
I'm right back to my school days again with this one
The opening line grabs you
Makes you think!
Where's the year gone?
Have I wasted it?
What the hell am I going to do next year?
'OK Tony, stop messing about,' i hear you say
'Just tell us what it is, will you?
It is of course: John Lennon - So this is christmas

Was I right, or wrong to post this second?
Was it worth an extra day's wait?
I think this proved Lennon was a far better writer than macca
How the hell did he get a knighthood for carrying on churning out pretentious dirge
Oops, sorry; I might include one of his later, just in the festive spirit
