The term cadaver is used in courts of law to refer to a dead body, as well as by recovery teams searching for bodies in natural disasters. The word comes from the Latin word cadere which means to fall.
So a corpse is a fallen or dead body. The cells are dead and the heart pumps no more. A dead animal is referred to as a carcass.
Since there are many things not functioning in dead Bodies, they are not able to do many functions they used to do and can only be buried or cremated.
I believe zombies and ghosts are either a fantasy or some sort of voodoo. Corpses cannot walk.
There are stories of corpses that talk but I doubt it fully.
They are dead and incapable of many things.
They groan, fart and produce other sounds. These occurings can be explained scientifically. It is even known that digestion goes on in dead Bodies. They can urinate and have bowel movement too.
The hair of dead Bodies is known to grow.
Nails are known to grow too. This is mainly due to dehydration in the body.
