I think overall manual curation is alive, I've seen automated curation though and the only issue I see with it is sometimes those who are getting automatic votes start to abuse is by posting junk or plagerism.

I've said before that I think a majority of the top track and field athletes are not clean. Farah had a marked improvement after switching over to Salazar and that made me suspect him fairly early on.

I love running but this whole things seems crazy. The risk of falling is one thing, but down hill running is incredible bad for your knees compared to flat and or running uphill. For those who aren't falling
