Back in 2019, before the madness caused by COVID-19, I purchased a large Harvest Right freeze dryer. I had the intention of using it to start up a freeze dried dog treat company plus doing some DIY freeze drying for emergency food storage. I halted my business when things started to take a turn for the worse to focus on making packs of freeze dried meals for my family.

My kids are still a bit picky with food so I ended up doing a few full loads of homemade macaroni and cheese and other favorites like taco meat and fruits like strawberries, blueberries and pineapple.

I also managed to make some freeze dried treats like ice cream and marshmallows for long term storage.

I purchased beef that went on sale and freeze dried a large amount of cubed raw meat to use for meals.

I am comfortable with making huge amounts of food at one time because I used to cook professionally. The freeze dryer has paid for itself a few times over between selling freeze dried food or taking commissions from customers to prep shelf stable meals for them. Thanks for checking out my article!
