Today, I gathered the last bit of materials needed to start my next Thermophilic Compost for The Soil Food Web School.
I started the day traveling to the horse farm to get some horse manure from a great local source that does not treat their horses with de-wormers or medications. I needed the horse manure for a High Nitrogen source. I would need 10-20% High Nitrogen materials, 30% regular Nitrogen materials and approx. 60 % Carbon materials for my compost pile.
After visiting the horse farm my buddy and I traveled to a garden store in the town of Eugene, Oregon called Eugene Backyard Yard Farmer to pick up some wheat grass and timothy grass to finish up the gathering the carbon and nitrogen materials.
Now that I gathered all the materials needed and have them all soaking in water over night, I will be ready to assemble this compost pile tomorrow morning! Hopefully, this one passes as well!
