Today's Splinterlands Daily Quest was to use the Water Splinter in battle and win 5 battles doing so.
I have to win five battles using the Water splinter. I will attempt to accomplish this without renting cards to my advantage as I want to save my Dark Energy Crystals for future Quest Potions. Quest Potions will allow me to receive five additional loot chests(rewards) each time I complete a daily quest!
I will be playing at Bronze level three and in anticipation of the next season, I canceled my rentals on the card market in order to play with my Water Splinters for the short term. Take them out for a spin if you will. Of course I will have the Phantom cards available to use that comes with the initial purchase of the SPELLBOOK.
Although, I am bringing some Gold Foiled cards into battle today...
At Sixty Dollars USD for a promo pack of 11 Quest Potions ($5.46 a Quest Potion), I started to think they are not really lucrative to acquire based off past Quest rewards but I was mistaken! The Quest Potions are worth aquiring, to better understand please visit this recent post from me where I win two amazing cards! 5 or 6 cards from quest rewards in 7 days! Ok ok, I won a $12 USD card, not close to recovering the costs of the original Quest Potion promo purchase I made. I am still happy nonetheless.
I do enjoy the engagement here on these Splinterlands posts and even making them so I will carry forward with continued enthusiasm for the Daily Quests!
Perhaps, I can do this for a month just to have a collection of bronze level posts showing how fun Hive account@splinterlands is without getting lost in the ROI's, yROA-B's, dec's and of course that very pretty SPS; for all these new users flocking Splinterlands that can barely afford a SPELLBOOK. The SPELLBOOK is worth every penny by the way!

Splintershards (SPS) is a new cryptocurrency governance token which will be integrated into the Splinterlands game in order to provide increasing levels of decision-making ability and control over the product to the player-base, asset owners, and other stakeholders.
The primary purpose and utility of the Splintershards (SPS) token within the game will be participating in governance. Splinterlands plans to introduce a governance voting system into the game platform that will allow players holding staked SPS tokens to vote for or against different proposed changes to the game and ecosystem.
Each staked SPS token will be worth one vote, so the more SPS tokens a player has staked, the more they will be able to influence the results of the votes.
Dark Energy Crystals are the in-game currency in Splinterlands. You earn it through "burning" (i.e. destroying) one of your cards or by winning battles in ranked games. You will get extra DEC if you win your battles using gold foil and/or alpha edition cards. Your winning streak will give you a boost in DEC rewards as well. However, if you are playing several matches in a row the amount of DEC you are eligible to receive goes down each time you win. This recharges over time and is referred to as your Capture Rate. So far, SPT has not been having any effect on the Splinterlands ecosystem, except for a little extra incentive to blog about the game. Splintertalk has its own frontend condenser on Splintertalk.io, where you can find its own trending page, a fantastic way to find the currently best Splinterlands content. You can also find your SPT specific wallet there, where you can stake your SPT. Alternatively, you can use LeoDex for that, where you can manage all your Hive Engine tokens.
When SPT was originally issued, 100k SPT has been airdropped to each Maverick at that time (investors who bought 500+ Booster Packs), who had to individually claim the airdrop from the founders. Since then, a lot of SPT has been sold off and the price has plummeted while it was still lingering on the Steem blockchain. Since the token listens to the the tags #splinterlands, #steemmonsters and #spt, it is often even used without the authors knowledge! Now, with the transition to the Hive blockchain and some fresh promises by the founders, a new interest is arising for the token.

I have to say thank you to both Hive account@shadowspub and Hive account@aggroed since I still really do not remember where I got this card from in 2018. I think this card is from participating in Shadow's Pub's weekly discord show called Pimp Your Post Thursdays.
If I recall right, Agg was pitching Hive account@steemmonsters on Shadow's show. He said it would be the next biggest thing back in the spring/summer of 2018. I just do not remember him saying who was going to get cards for being in attendance or if he actually meant it. Clearly, he meant every single last word he spoke that day on her show. My mind still can't even fully comprehend that moment and how I experienced such wizardry at play. My health was so bad and with stress at the time, it was a moment that I did not full comprehend the full gravity of. I remember thinking eh, I won't buy these cards but I will keep this gift still.

I looked at this card as a picking hat card much like the one in Harry Potter. You see, if the Grand Master Wizard himself hands you gold, you listen. Agg gave me a Gold Water Splinter!
Further examination of the Water Splinter people through the Lore that is Splinterlore, showed me Agg had been listening to me the entire time and most likely everyone that was regularly attending Shadow's weekly show. Which allowed for him to pick this card for me, is the assumption I am making. However, he probably just indiscriminately gave us all the same card for all I know!🤣 My imagination can get the best of me!
At any rate, I got goosebumps reading about the Water Splinter people. I knew instantly after reading up on them that these were my people indeed. The idea of building up a tribe of like minded rebellious people who will stand up against tyranny while providing refuge to it's victims, brings me strength just thinking about it.
The story of Mokar made my eyes water. It is truly a story someone like myself or anyone who has lost a loved one, such as your father, can easily relate to. Left with no one but the Great Beyond to provide you with the solutions to life's unfair dilemmas...
Spineback Turtles live around the edges of the Dark Water, in the inner seas of ΛZMΛRÉ. They can breathe air, but the incredibly harsh climate of the Water Splinter makes the recesses of the deep more comfortable. They are generally gentle creatures, but when roused to battle, they are shockingly difficult to destroy.
I figured this person was going to come with his Fire Splinters but I was wrong! The low mana rule sets early in my quest today was not to my advantage until this battle.
Just some good ole SPINEBACK TURTLE action with great support from ALRIC STORMBRINGER and MEDUSA while Spineback held down the first position quite properly as a the solid tank that he is.

I was finally going to use my Gold FoiledDEMENTED SHARK card since acquiring it but he came to battle as only a level 1 today.
DEMENTED SHARK with his Inspire ability, that gave all friendly melee monsters an additional +1 to their attack, made all the difference in this battle!

Bringing in my Gold FoiledBORTUS, even at a level 2, still will allow for DEMENTED SHARK to roam the battlefield with increased overall stats. I am noticing that as my cards return from the rental market, my overall card power is increasing. Perhaps that is why I am currently having issues with bringing in my cards at full level. My Gold FoiledBORTUS is a level 4. Can someone please help explain in the comments, as to why I am having this minor issue?

I simply just wanted to keep coming with what works. Summoner advantage or not I had a Gold FoiledDEMENTED SHARK who would be giving my sneak like FEASTING SEAWEED greater hit power with a +1 melee boost.

Sharks are incredibly resilient in the wild of the Outer Ocean. Because of how recklessly and indiscriminately they throw themselves at prey, they are often marred and damaged by those they attack, who possess unseen (and often horrific) defenses. One of these creatures of prey that sharks continue to foolishly attack in the wild is called the edgefish, whose scales are sharp like blades of steel. Another is the genus Coelomomyces, a group of aquatic fungi creatures that when attacked, lay spores inside the brains of larger fish. Several weeks after the spores are laid, small, treelike fungus begins to grow from the sharks’ heads. This causes the sharks to completely lose control of themselves and fall into a perpetual blinding agony of rage. This is how the monsters known as Demented Sharks are born, and when they find their way into the inner sea of ΛZMΛRÉ, no Mer is safe.
