Struggling a Bit With Some 5/8" Steel Plate! My Actifit Report Card: September 10 2026

We usually only cut up to half inch steel plate on our CNC Plasma table, but the opportunity arose for some 5/8" steel plate. A little bit thicker than we usually tackle.

We did a test piece to start

Then we moved on to our mission of cutting some circles.

We burnt out a couple tips just by cutting this one circle alone,

These circle plates were for round mortars for the special effects industry.

They fit pretty good in the pipe after all.

Was a bit of a learning and experience, and we talked a lot more about getting our laser table up and running.
