Brass Pin Racing Ball! My Actifit Report Card: August 20 2026
Modified my first 304 stainless steel 1.5" Racing Ball yesterday. Had a busy day at the shop yesterday and I should have put this project off. Or at the very least I should have allowed a little more time to do a better job at this.
Nevertheless, I did get this brass pin through the stainless steel Ball!
Here's a few photos from the lathe while I was drilling out the hole to put the brass bar through
Will this ball roll faster than if I just left it as 304 stainless? Well this brass round bar through the center that adds speed to this rolling down the track.
Maybe I guess, it's probably slightly more dense now. But finishing up the two ends I have left it uniform than it was. I guess we'll see on the track on Saturday!
Another part of this wasn't so much speed but was to find a way to make a difference from the other stainless steel balls that I have.
