And aside from being Hiatus in #steemit, I also had a hard time finding motivation to paint. You see my hands work together with my heart. But now that I'm recovering and finding life significant again, I am also Inspired to do Art again. Well not just to simple Do some Art but also to discover, explore and learn new things in my craft. So with that, allow me to show you my latest landscape watercolor.

✨STARRY NIGHT AT THE BEACH ✨

I've been fond of Stars and Galaxies since I discovered watercolor. I love how the stars shines so bright in the midst of darkness of the skies. For me, it implifies that

No matter how dim or dark your life is, there will always be a light that will continually shines.

The very reason most of my works are Starry Nights or Galaxies, surely it has great Impact in my life and I assure you that there's more coming up.

So here's my step by step process on how I paint my Starry Night at the Beach landscape watercolor.

STEP 1: PREPARATIONS

Of course in everything you do, first things first. And that is to prepare All the materials you'll be needing in this work.

Here's a glimpse of my messy table. But you can see all my materials right there. But to jot down specifically, here's the list of materials I used.

Materials

• Canson Watercolor paper 200gsm (cutted in 1/4 size)
• Winsor and Newton cotman watercolor
• Dr. Ph Martin's bleed proof white ink
• Sumi Ink
• Raphael Petit Gris brush (No. 4, 8 and 14)

Additional:

• Clip board
• Tissues
• Masking Tape
• Water
• Palette

Note: Paints and Paper depends on you. It doesn't have to be the exactly the same. Explore. Be creative as you can be. As for me, these are my usual materials and also the only available on hand.

Aside from getting all the materials together, it's been my nature and part of my preparations to study the hues I'll be using. In this theme, I'll be using dark pantone. I have 6 hues all in all, it includes Payne's gray, Payne's gray + Intense Blue, Intense blue, White bleed proof ink + Payn's gray, white and Black (using sumi ink).
Aside from studying the hues, another preparation is sticking the paper to the clip board. This will allow your work to be steady while painting and even give you a border that will give your landscape a clean work.

STEP 2: PAINT THE FIRST LAYER

I always use the wet on wet technique in my watercolor, it's the easiest method if you will ask me. So first thing to do before painting the first layer is to wet the paper using water.

The water is a big help so that the paint will rapidly spread in the paper.

Then I drew a line using payne's gray watercolor to create a barrier of the skies and the seas. Since I am not a fan of doing drafts, I tried so hard not to make a mistake or try to mend it anyway. So the next step is to paint the first layer of the skies using the combination of payne's gray and intense blue in the upper side of the paper.

And on the lower half of the skies' portion is a softer touch of intense blue. I'd always love to make a gradient especially when I'm painting skies. Then I started painting the seas, using payne's gray alone. But upon seeing it's dim color, I decided to add a layer of light intense blue. So that my seas won't look like dead sea in the end. Hahaha!

Here's the output after putting some light intense blue, I am quite happy with the result of it. And one thing, I am trying to make a distinction between the color of the skies and the seas too. In short, I'm trying to give justice on two different scene. Although they got the same hues and merely the sea is just like a reflection of the skies, still I want people to distinguish the difference of the two.

Then I tapped some tissues in the seas' portion to make the color light and to make the texture rough.

STEP 3: PAINT THE SECOND LAYER

So since it's wet on wet technique, I tried to apply the second layer while the paper is wet. But it only applies in the portion of the skies because I dried the portion of the seas with tissues.

After adding the second layer, finally I paint the sand. I don't know if you can call that sand. Maybe grayish sand, yeah it fits that.

I was really worried thinking that I would not give justice to this part too. So I tried layering it with payne's gray more and mix with some white ink.

STEP 4: FURNISHING AND DETAILING

Obviously the last step is furnishing and detailing. But before that, I added few silhouette mountains using sumi ink.

After the mountains, I put some white ink to the border or the sad and seas that signifies the waves. .

I drew few lines and waves in the seas too. Although it wasn't my expected output still I am glad upon seeing it. Maybe I need to explore and study how to paint waters too.

Lastly, one of my favorite part is to do the stars and comet. Using the white ink and a No. 4 brush I made a small splatter in the paper. (The bigger the dot you want, the bigger the brush you should use) Then I drew a thin diagonal line for the comet.

And of course, thia output can never be done without an Inspiration. For this work, it was Inspired by one of my All time favorite anime series, Kuroko No Basket. I miss watching it so bad! This scene was from season 1 episode 23 if I am not mistaken. Where Taiga and Tetsu were jogging in the beach at night. Yay! Here's my reference:
