Long ago in the village of Takad,there was drought throughout the land which resulted in a great loss of livestock and crops. The drought grew worse over time. Streams became dry as well as rivers which were their source of water for irrigation. Many of the villagers were farmers and fishermen, therefore, causing hunger and famine in the land. The absence of rain bothered the king and the people, those who were wisemen predicted it to be as a result of a sin someone had committed in the past. They appealed to the gods but the drought kept growing worse.
On one faithful day,the people of Takad were up already,carrying out their various activities for the day,when suddenly the clouds began to gather.
The people were so happy because after a long period of drought,they will finally have rain. The clouds began to get darker and darker and the whole villagers came out to rejoice. Then suddenly,there was a whirlwind and the people thought it was a rain squall. After a long wait for the rain,there was no drop of rain, the people became disappointed and most of them went back to their huts.
When all seemed as if it was lost, suddenly,there was a fall of something that looked like stones,but when the villagers took a closer look they noticed that it was coffee beans.They were all amazed that in the history of Takad there had not been anything like that before. In their amazement,the coffee beans began to fall so heavily that it drove the villagers into their huts.
It hailed down on the village so much that it caused a storm.
After a long hour of falling,it stopped and was accompanied by a heavy rainfall which fell for two days and nights. The people were happy and jubilating as they screamed in their local tongues saying "the Lord has shone his face on us". Their land was restored, their rivers and lakes were filled up once again and the villagers started their farming activities.
At the end of the two days,the village was flooded with coffee beans and rain. Soon after, Takad owned a big market where coffee and coffee beans were sold.
