The African children grow under intense pressure from childhood, with certain level of expectation the society place on them as they advance in age. African was birth through great tribulations and hardship in slavery, and the melalin flowing through their veins is tag to the strength they exhibit. Unfortunately The colonisation of most African countries had little effect in changing our tradition as Africa to which they esteem. Though the world is evolving to an ecosystem suitable for humanity, the Africans still hold tight to their tradition till date. Some of this held tradition seems to be dangerous to both the male and female gender as they're expose to practice that deny them their freedom as human.
Till now, some culture still give out their little daughters in the hand of marriage to grow up men who put them in the way of womanhood early on life. With this, they pull out scripts of benefits they assume early marriage brings, neglecting the physiological and psychological effect it impose on them. Most of this sad events is tag to the poor social economic status of African countries, but beyond this, it's the tradition they have failed to neglect.
Some tradition practice genital mutilation on their female children in Nigeria with the reason of averting promiscuous character among their daughters, though with a well-meaning purpose, it still have effect on the growing child. This pressure put on the female children early in life has affected their mental growth and had brought adjustment to their true personality.
The male personality is not left behind, our dark pigmented skin is believe to be a symbol of strength and thou male children are expose to hard labour and situation early in life. The African tradition believe men are not suppose to show any form of weakness in whatever situation, and deliberately put the male children into manhood at very early age. These practices have affected the African Children and had suppress their courage and gifted abilities. If Africans could embrace a positive change and throw out their negative tradition, then she will breed talented , confident and strong people that will be the pillars of this giant Nation.
