I don't like defeat. It can make me depressed for days, as such, I avoided everything that could put me in such a position. In the year (2018?)I can't exactly remember, I told myself I needed to engage myself with the things guys do, and one which seemed easier was watching football and probably get a club I'll support. I went to the viewing center and realized Manchester United and Chelsea were playing in the finals , so I supported Manchester united. The game started and ended in a penalty and I could feel my body tensed in between loss and win, then finally Manchester United won after one of Chelsea's players lost a penalty.
The joy I felt that night made me become dreadful of sport. I've heard stories of people who killed themselves because their club lost a game and of people who emptied their account to celebrate a victory. The way I felt that night, the strong surge of happiness made me believe it was possible. As much as I was happy that the club I supported won, I was afraid of myself, what I could do if the club I had supported lost. I advised myself to stay off anything that had such a strong surge of feeling, and that advice was for my betterment. Since that very start, that particular day i started, i disassociated myself with sporty activities, I love my mental health.
As time went by, I started to have more reasons why I couldn't be Sportaholic. Realized sport is addictive, it could eat up some valuable things in ones life gradually. These are time, money, and relationship (especially for the married ones whose partners aren't Sportaholic). Watched the lifestyle of those who were sport addict in my hometown and it wasn't presentation to me, they could neglect place of worship just to watch a game, or have no any other discussion outside sport.
Plus I was an introvert, social gathering wasn't my kind of thing, I prefer to stay indoors to go out. I don't like many friends and wasn't ready to make many for the sake of sport. So, here I am, not a lover of any sport. I just keep to my space and avoid anything that could make me depressed or hurt.
