Climate change is a long time shift in weather pattern and temperature. It is believed that human activities are the main causes of this climate change and it's dated back since the 1800s. Activities like deforestation, burning of fuel, rearing of animals such as cows that feed on green plants, the gases from companies etc. Are said to be factors that drive this climate change, and to answer the question, what can we do? It's simple, do the opposite, which is less red meat, more afforestation, less use of cars that expel gases and signing into law a bill that allows just a few industries. But that wouldn't change anything. I have observed that the weather changes itself each year or after a period of time without humans necessarily doing the above. So, what things can we do to reduce climate change? The truth is, nothing. There would always be a reason for the change of climate even if humans cease to do the mentioned activities.

We have four geopolitical zones in Nigeria, all the zones have their peculiar weather and it's not influenced by the activities that's done there. I believe we both carry out the same activities, yet no shift is experienced. Some parts of the country are hot while others are cold and this pattern has remained so for a long time. We have two seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. The dry season is categorized by the extreme heat and the rainy season by the cold. Some parts of the country experience cold all through the season and there has been just a little change each year, some parts rain all through the year causing the rivers to fill up, therefore causing flooding, while other parts have little rainfall.

Everything changes. Evolution comes and sometimes it's not influenced by humans but natural occurrence and the same is the climate change, and that's the reason why humans have little or nothing to do to reduce it. Change is constant so do people say, the earth changes, even the seasons change and so does climate change. The weather for 2000 years has not worn out even though old men used fire and consumed meat. The effect of this climate change has always been focused on global warming, where the water in oceans, rivers, and seas heat up causing flooding but all this was experienced even in the past when there were no cars and industries. The major problem is technology and science (my thoughts though). They always want to find causes, but most often without solutions.
